Our Goal

Our goal is to provide a forum for exchanging ideas among Soft Computing researchers and engineers through scientific events, such as organizing special sessions at SMC annual conferences, organizing and supporting international conferences and workshops, and editing special issues for SMC Society’s publications.

We are one of the most active Technical Committees (TCs), offering numerous opportunities for members to exchange technical ideas, as demonstrated by the activities listed above. If you are interested in joining our TC, please email the TC Chair to express your interest and enjoy the privileges of:

  • Discussing and exchanging research ideas, and possibly sharing research resources with our TC members via the Bulletin Board System, Google Group, or by connecting directly with members listed in the Members’ Directory.
  • Interacting with experts in Soft Computing, including fields such as neural networks, fuzzy systems, evolutionary computation, and other rapidly growing biologically inspired approaches.
  • Participating in engaging conferences and workshops supported or organized by the TC.
  • Making friends from around the world through our international academic events.

About This TC

  • We have organized special sessions (SS’s) every year at the SMC annual conferences since SMC2001 and are one of the champion TCs that collected the most SS papers. Our TC was awarded by IEEE Most Active SMC Technical Committee Award in 2006, 2009 and 2018.
  • Our TC is very active in organizing and supporting international conferences. Our TC members serve as chairs of organizing committees and invited speakers. We are organizing and have organized many conferences.
