Our Goal

Information and communication technologies have been providing an effective network infrastructure and development platform for both logistics and industrial security systems. To meet the needs of consumers and to promote core competencies, many institutions and firms have begun developing new types of services. The rationale for establishing the new TC is that these are emerging areas which can open new opportunities in research and technology.

The scope of the IEEE SMC Technical Committee on LIISS (Logistics Informatics and Industrial Security Systems) could be intelligent logistics, smart city, smart supply chain, electronic commerce; smart building; IoT (Internet of Things), big data, energy security, information security engineering, logistics security engineering, safe information theory, environment security, security engineering.

The primary objective of LIISS is to provide an international LIISS conferences, workshops, publications, and other activities to bring together professionals working in this interdisciplinary area, and promote research, practice, technical innovation and international collaboration in the area of Logistics Informatics and Industrial Security Systems. The vision of TC on Logistics Informatics and Industrial Security Systems is to be recognized as the leading technical committee for the advancement of theory and application of the synergetic integration of Logistics Informatics and Industrial Security Systems.

The mission of the TC on Logistics Informatics and Industrial Security Systems is to serve its members and the society at large by promoting the theory and practice of Logistics Informatics and Industrial Security Systems. It is accomplished through conferences, workshops, publications, and other activities that contribute to the professional needs of its members.

Recent Activities

After several round discussions, four co-chairs decide that LIISS will organize some activities to recruit about 60 IEEE members and IEEE SMC members, and to serve its members and the society by organizing international conferences and summer school on Logistics Informatics and Industrial Security Systems.

  • Organizing 2015 international conference on Logistics, informatics and Service Science (LISS 2015, 27-29 July, 2015, Barcelona, Spain)
  • Organizing 2015 International Conference on Industrial Economics and Industrial Security (IEIS 2015, 27-29 July, 2015, Barcelona, Spain)
  • Organizing summer school on logistics, informatics and Service Science (20-31 August, 2015, Beijing, China)
  • Recruiting IEEE members. LIISS will encourage our colleagues, students and authors from LISS 2015 and IEIS 2015 to join IEEE, IEEE SMC and IEEE LIISS. We will recruit about 60 IEEE members this year, and explain to the members how they can benefit from IEEE.
  • Participating in IEEE SMC 2015 (9-12 October, 2015, Hong Kong). LIISS will encourage its members including our colleagues, students and authors from our conferences to attend IEEE SMC 2015, and we will organize a delegation to attend it every year.
