Our Goal
Enterprise Architecture (EA) is described as a means to cope with organizations’ ever-increasing complexity by ensuring that organizations appropriately use and optimize their technical resources. EA is therefore seen as an integrated and holistic vision of an enterprise’s fundamental organization, embodied in its elements (people, processes, applications, etc.), their relationships to each other and to the environment, and the principles guiding its design and evolution. Enterprise Engineering (EE) is defined the engineering skills and activities necessary to construct and implement enterprise architecture.
The goal of the EAE TC is to provide a forum for exchanging ideas among EA and EE researchers and engineers through scientific events such as the organization of invited sessions at IEEE SMC Society (SMCS) conferences and workshops.

Recent Activities
- Co-organized the first IEEE SMC conference focusing on Enterprise Systems (ES 2013), with the TC on Enterprise Information Systems, in Cape Town, South Africa during 7-8 November 2013.
- Provides a forum for Enterprise Architecture and Engineering researchers, engineers and practitioners interested to promote EA and EE as both a research and grounded practical discipline.
- Wants to encourage researchers and IEEE members to participate in research in Enterprise Architecture and Engineering, as well as related fields.
- Endeavors to organize workshops, special sessions and conference tracks, for instance at IEEE/SMC conferences. An example of a workshop is the full day tutorial hosted at IEEE SMC 2011 (Anchorage, Alaska) entitled Enterprise Engineering from an Ontological Perspective with John Zachman.
- Endeavors to organize special journal issues in Enterprise Architecture and Engineering, and related topics for researchers to publish high quality research outputs.
- Will collaborate with related SMCS TCs such as the complementary TC on Enterprise Information Systems in order to encourage activities within the two TCs and to broaden the fields of interest.

- Obtain and collaborate on the most recent research through communications and visits with TC members.
