The 2018 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics will be held in Seagaia Convention Center, Phoenix Seagaia Resort, Miyazaki, Japan, October 7-10, 2018. We invite you to propose Special Sessions for IEEE SMC 2018.
Special Sessions must be related to the conference theme or especially hot topics within the conference scope. All submitted papers undergo the same review process, and submission to proposed sessions is not a guarantee of acceptance. Click here for more information on the SMC 2018 website.
Please e-mail your proposal to Special Session Chair Naoyuki Kubota – [email protected] – by Feb.23, 2018.
Your proposal should include the following information:
Subject: SS Proposal for IEEE SMC2018
Theme:
Research Area (One from the following): Systems Science / Human-Machine Systems / Cybernetics
Session Organizer(s), affiliation(s) & e-mail address(es):
The abstract of your session (100-200 words):
After your proposal is accepted, you may be asked to submit a list of tentative paper titles and their authors in your special session. Please start to invite your colleagues to join your special session. IEEE SMC 2018 is the flagship conference of IEEE SMC Society. The acceptance rate of SMC Annual Conference is decreasing in these years to collect high quality papers. Please encourage your colleagues to show their best efforts to join this conference. We deeply appreciate your initiative in your research field and encouragement to your colleagues.
In the review process, each paper should have three reviewers or more. As a special session organizer, you will assign two reviewers to a submitted paper from experts in your research field. Another reviewer will be assigned by the Program Committee from experts in research fields of SMC. The authors should persuade experts in your research field and an expert from other research areas.
If your special session is able to collect more than 10 accepted papers, you will be a special track chair who has more than two sessions. If you collect more than 20 accepted papers, we may be able to give you a slot for an invited talk with 30 or 45 minutes. You can invite someone to promote your research field by an invited talk. However, please note that there is no financial support to invite your speaker and it is not a plenary talk. We give you just a privilege to have an invited talk in your special track. If you do not need to have an invited talk, you may be able to have only technical sessions in your track.
