About
The Collaborative Human-AI Symbiosis (CHAIS) Summer School is a one-day programme held in conjunction with the IEEE International Conference on Human-Machine Systems (ICHMS 2026).
The summer school is designed primarily for students interested in human-AI teaming and collaboration, human-machine systems, and related interdisciplinary fields. As artificial intelligence systems become increasingly integrated into complex operational environments, effective collaboration between humans and AI systems has become a critical research and engineering challenge.
Through a series of expert lectures and interactive discussions, the programme will explore how human-centered design, intelligent decision support, and collaborative autonomy can improve the performance, reliability, and trustworthiness of human-AI systems.
Participation is open to IEEE Student Members and Non-IEEE Students. The summer school provides students with an opportunity to engage with experts, exchange ideas, and contribute their perspectives on emerging challenges and possible research directions in human-AI collaboration.
