
The IEEE CIS and IEEE SMCS societies are offering travel grants for IEEE CAI 2026. Applicants may submit applications to multiple societies without restrictions. Further details on both grants are provided below.

IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Travel Grants
IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) is pleased to offer the following types of Travel grants to the IEEE CIS members who are interested to present their papers in-person at IEEE Conference on Artificial Intelligence 2026:
- IEEE CIS Conference Travel Grant for Students: This program offers a limited number of grants to assist
- IEEE CIS Student Members to travel to attend IEEE CIS conferences and present their papers.
- IEEE CIS Conference Travel Grant for Researchers from Developing Countries: This program offers a limited number of travel grants to assist IEEE CIS Members of any grade higher than Student to travel to attend IEEE CIS conferences and present their papers.
- IEEE CIS Travel Grant for Young Professionals: The IEEE CIS Travel Grant for Young Professionals offers a limited number of grants to assist IEEE CIS members who are young professionals and early-career researchers from both academic and industry presenting papers at IEEE CIS conferences with financial sponsorship.
- IEEE CIS Participation Grant for Students: This program offers a limited number of grants to support non-lead Student Authors and Non-Author Students attending IEEE CIS conferences. This grant waives/provides discount for the student’ early registration fee.
The grant will be in the form of digital reimbursement of a fixed amount after the in-person participation in the conference as a registered attendee. The approved amount will be typically USD 600 for intra-continental (within Europe) participants, and USD 1,200 for inter-continental (outside Europe) participants.

IEEE CAI 2026 – SMCS Student and Young Professional Travel Grants
Thanks to the generous support of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society (SMCS), applications are now open for travel grants to support students and young professional authors of accepted papers in attending the IEEE CAI 2026 conference.
Selected applicants will receive a travel reimbursement grant of $600 upon successfully registering and presenting their papers at the conference.

Important Note: The grant is provided as a reimbursement, meaning recipients must cover their expenses upfront and will be reimbursed after the conference upon submission of required proof of attendance.
Eligibility and requirements: To be considered for a travel grant, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Be an active IEEE SMC Society member at the time of application, belonging to one of the following categories:
- Student/Graduate Student Members
- Young Professional Members (IEEE members who have graduated within the past 15 years)
- Be the author or co-author of a paper submitted for presentation at IEEE CAI 2026.
- Register and attend the conference.
- Attend the social events organized by the SMCS during the conference.
Selection criteria: The number of grants is limited. Applications are reviewed based on the following criteria:
- Applicants who have been active IEEE SMCS members for longer will receive preference.
- Preference will be given to applicants with limited financial resources.
- Priority will be given to applicants traveling from distant regions.
- Applicants who did not receive a travel grant in the previous year will be given priority.
- The IEEE SMCS will ensure equal representation of all genders in the selection process.
The evaluation process is highly competitive. Applicants are encouraged to submit a strong application with complete and well-prepared documents to maximize their chances of selection.
