Editorial of Issue 61, October 2018, of the eNewsletter of the IEEE SMC Society

Dear Readers,

Prof. Mariagrazia Dotoli

Welcome to the third issue of the IEEE SMC Society eNewsletter of 2018.

The current e-Newsletter collects plenty of information on Society news: among many others, do not miss the 2017 IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems Outstanding Paper Award!

This new issue of 2018 also includes information on several new initiatives and appointments of the Society and the establishment of a new Technical Committee. The issue also features numerous calls for papers and calls for participation to events and activities of the Society. In particular, October 7-10 are the dates reserved for this year’s edition of our flagship conference to be held in Miyazaki (Japan), http://www.smc2018.org/ and focusing on the making of a human-centered cyber world. I look forward to seeing you all there! Please also note that the call for papers of next year’s conference is already available at http://smc2019.org/ and the theme is Industry 4.0. Next year edition will be held in Bari, Italy, and you are all welcome to participate!

Finally, the eNewsletter features a listing of several upcoming SMC events and reports numerous job openings and funding opportunities.

I look forward to receiving your contributions and making the eNewsletter the leading forum of our Society.

Send us your feedback!
