Imre Rudas Receives Slovakian, Mexican and Polish Awards

Imre Rudas

Imre J. Rudas, Fellow of IEEE is active as a full university professor of Óbuda University, Budapest, Hungary and currently holds the position of the Head of the Steering Committee of the University Research and Innovation Center. He served as the President of Budapest Tech from 2003 till 2010, and he established Óbuda University, the successor of Budapest Tech and was elected in 2010 as the President till April 2014.

He has been an active member of our IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (SMC) Society for more than twenty-five years. He established the SMC Hungary Chapter, the Technical Committee of Computational Cybernetics and co-chair of the committee. He serves the Society as Vice-President of Membership Development and Student Activities, he was the General Chair of the very successful SMC 2016 conference.

Recently, Imre Rudas has received three prestigious international awards.

In June, he received the Doctor Honoris Causa title from Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava which is the most prestigious award of the university.

In October Imre Rudas gave a Keynote Speech on Cloud Robotics at the 15th Mexican International Conference on Artificial Intelligence. At the Award Ceremony of the conference he received the Fellow grade of the Mexican Society of Artificial Intelligence for:

“important contribution to Artificial Intelligence and for contribution to its advancement in Mexico via participation in activities of this Society”

Honorary Consul of Wroclaw University of Science and Technology

Most recently, Imre felt honoured to receive another prestigious award. Specifically, on the 15th of October 2016 he received the title of “Honorary Consul of Wroclaw University of Science and Technology.” The award was given at the Annual Celebration of the University.
