About the IEEE SMC Society Student Branch Chapter at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST)
The IEEE SMC Society Student Branch Chapter at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) was founded in May 2007. Professor Shyi-Ming Chen is the Advisor of the IEEE SMC Society Student Branch Chapter at NTUST. Our objective is to promote the networking and sharing of information and knowledge among students. We encourage students studying related subjects to enter the IEEE SMC Society Student Branch Chapter at NTUST. It helps students to expand their world by getting in contact with new techniques and new equipment. Furthermore, we provide good opportunities for all members to communicate, discuss problems, as well as discover the joy and fulfillment in research. We are looking forward to seeing more students to join the IEEE SMC Society Student Branch Chapters at NTUST. For further information, please feel free to contact .
The 2011 System Software Forum
The 2011 System Software Forum was held in National Taiwan University of Science and Technology on November 28, 2011. It was financially supported by the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society and the IEEE Taipei Section. More than 60 people attended the 2011 System Software Forum. In the opening ceremony, Professor Shyi-Ming Chen (the Advisor of the IEEE SMC Society Student Branch Chapter at NTUST) welcomed the people who attended the 2011 System Software Forum, showed the schedule of the 2011 System Software Forum and introduced the Keynote Speakers, Professor Tan-Hsu Tan (National Taipei University of Education) and Professor Ho-Lung Hung (Chienkuo Technology University). Then, Mr. Cheng-Yi Wang (the Chairman of the IEEE SMC Society Student Branch Chapter at NTUST) introduced the IEEE and the IEEE SMC Society. Then, Professor Tan-Hsu Tan gave his Keynote Speech entitled “Estimation of Carrier Frequency Offsets for Uplink OFDMA Systems Using An Enhanced Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) Algorithm”. After the Keynote Speech of Professor Tan-Hsu Tan, Professor Ho-Lung Hung gave another Keynote Speech entitled “PAPR Reduction in OFDM System Using Differential Evolution-Based Partial Transmit Sequences Scheme”. The 2011 System Software Forum was a very successful forum. The participants gained a lot in terms of knowledge and technology of system software.
