The IEEE SMC Society Student Branch Chapter at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) was founded in May 2007. Professor Shyi-Ming Chen is the Advisor of the IEEE SMC Society Student Branch Chapter at NTUST. Our objective is to promote the networking and sharing of information and knowledge among students. We encourage students studying related subjects to enter the IEEE SMC Society Student Branch Chapter at NTUST. It helps students to expand their world by getting in contact with new techniques and new equipment. Furthermore, we provide good opportunities for all members to communicate, discuss problems, as well as discover the joy and fulfillment in research.
The 2009 System Software Forum was held in National Taiwan University of Science and Technology on September 26, 2009. It was financially supported by the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society and the IEEE Taipei Section. More than 85 people attended the 2009 System Software Forum. In the opening ceremony, Professor Shyi-Ming Chen (the Advisor of the IEEE SMC Society Student Branch Chapter at NTUST) welcomed the people who attended the 2009 System Software Forum, showed the schedule of the 2009 System Software Forum and introduced the Keynote Speakers, Professor Albert B. Jeng (Jinwen University of Science and Technology) and Mr. Cheng-Yi Wang (Senior Consultant of the Algolware Company). Then, Mr. Li-Wei Lee (the Chairman of the IEEE SMC Society Student Branch Chapter at NTUST) introduced the IEEE and the IEEE SMC Society. Then, Professor Albert B. Jeng gave his Keynote Speech entitled “Information Security: A Summarized Account”. After the Keynote Speech of Professor Albert B. Jeng, Mr. Cheng-Yi Wang gave another Keynote Speech entitled “The Software Development Experience in Industry”. The 2009 System Software Forum was a very successful forum. The participants gained a lot in terms of knowledge and technology of system software.
