Following the success of IEEE SMC (Systems, Man and Cybernetics) Celebration Lecture Series (IEEE-SMC-CLS 2009) held in July, 2009, IEEE-SMC-CLS 2010 will be held again at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China on 7 - 8 July 2010. We would like to invite you, your colleagues and research students to participate in this event at no charge to the participants.
The IEEE-SMC-CLS 2010 will feature distinguished lectures delivered by reputed researchers (including IEEE Transactions Editor-in-Chief, Chief Editor of international journal, IEEE Fellow, IAPR Fellow, etc.) who are active in or closely affiliated with the IEEE SMC Society. This year a new feature will be added. A group of Ph.D. students or junior professors will be selected based on the quality of a 6-page research paper they submit. Then each one will meet with one of the speakers for 20 - 30 minutes to discuss how to improve their papers. The following distinguished scholars will be present at this event:
The opportunity of meeting face-to-face with a reputed researcher is limited. Only the best 40-60 papers submitted will be selected. Every selected participant can submit one paper only (including submission as a co-author). Our decision is final and there will be no appeal. No written comments will be provided. The paper will not be published in any form by the IEEE-SMC-CLS 2010 and the copyright of each selected paper belongs to the original author(s). Our aim is to provide useful comments by experienced researchers in helping young researchers to improve the quality of their research papers.
A Certificate of Participation will be issued to author(s) of each selected paper who attend the IEEE-SMC-CLS 2010 for a face-to-face discussion. The due day of the paper submission is 15 May 2010. The result of the selection will be announced on 7 June 2010.
