Our
goals
A trend has emerged in which complex systems are
being integrated on a large scale with other self-contained systems
to satisfy global objectives. Interoperability of resulting systems
is enabled through information exchange and increased levels of automation.
In light of this emerging discipline trend, this technical committee
will focus on both the theory and applications of System of Systems
and advocate their development. This technical committee will promote
the SoS area for both theory fundamentals and industrial applications.
The goal of this technical committee is to develop an environment for
discussion and development of Systems of Systems epistemology, lexicon,
taxonomy, methods, theory and applications.
What we are doing
- Organizing First IEEE SMC on Systems of Systems Engineering Conference
to be held on 24-26 April 2006.
- Organizing two special sessions at SMC 2006.
- A Systems of Systems workshop will be held in conjunction with the
SOSE conference. This will represent the first meeting of the TC and
the initial membership signup. The outcome of the workshop will be
presented as a paper at SMC2006 as well as reported to the TAB. It
is intended that this will also be developed into an article for the
first issue of the Systems Journal.
Why don't
you join us?
Join us in this newly created TC on SoS. We will
explore this area in both theoretic development and industrial applications
such as in aerospace, defense, and automobile industries. We will also
explore technical areas in enterprise management, model simulation,
and software and hardware architecture development that relate to System
of Systems. You can exchange your ideas, your management skills, and
your research and development results with your peers in similar areas.
