Our goals

Static algorithms cannot capture the full dynamics of human knowledge. Capabilities for learning, adapting, and even changing the representational basis must be enabled if computational systems can be said to be intelligent. In view of these requirements, the goal of the Knowledge Acquisition in Intelligent Systems (KAIS) technical committee is to advance the development of intelligent systems and systems of systems (SoS).

What we are doing

  • Organized an annual conference on Information Reuse and Integration at IRI-2005 in Las Vegas, NV in August 2005, which included a grant-agency forum.
  • Organized an annual conference on Information Reuse and Integration at IRI-2004 in Las Vegas, NV in November 2004.
  • Planning 2006 International Conference on Information Reuse and Integration (IRI) IRI-2006 in Kona, HI in conjunction with the IEEE SMC organizing committee, which will include a grant-agency forum.
  • Planning Special/Invited Sessions at IRI-2006 .
  • Special Issue of IEEE Trans. on SMC Part C on Information Reuse and Integration slated for 2008.
  • Organized an annual conference on Information Reuse and Integration at IRI-2007 in Las Vegas, NV in August 2007.
  • Organized an annual conference on Information Reuse and Integration at IRI-2008 in Las Vegas, NV in July 2008.
