Our
goals
In recent years, there has been a growing recognition in integration of learning and control that significant efforts need to be made to improve performance of controlled or automation or autonomous systems. This technical committee will promote the theory, practice, and interdisciplinary aspects of integration of learning and control in the area of intelligent and autonomous systems.
What we are doing
- Organizing three special sessions regarding intelligent
learning in control systems and intelligent control for
mobile robots for 2009 IEEE international conference on
SMC, and one special session regarding type-2 intelligent
learning for 2009 IEEE international conference on fuzzy
systems.
- Organizing a workshop or forum on intelligent learning
in control systems in IEEE SMC Taichung Chapter.
- Organizing a special session regarding intelligent control
systems for SICE Annual Conference 2009.
- Organizing other activities including publications to
contribute to the professional needs in the area.
- Editing a special issues of the eNewsletter.
Why don't
you join us?
Intelligent learning has been studied for years in different fields,
such as, machine learning in computer science, statistical learning from
mathematics, and modeling from control engineering, etc. The development
requires the integration of mutli-disciplined efforts. Existing
achievements in machine learning has prompted industries' recognition
that control techniques simply based on model-free learning mechanisms
will not promote control systems performance. The theoretic development
in integration of learning theories and control techniques, and related
effective applications to individual or cooperative autonomous systems
will significantly benefit the related industries and research areas,
such as autonomous systems, intelligent systems, intelligent robots,
intelligent cooperation of multiple agents, unmanned vehicles,
bio-mimetic systems and etc. This technical committee will focus on the
theoretical development in integration of learning and control and its
applications to some advanced research areas and commercial products.
Please join us and make your significant contributions to our society. |
