Our
goals
This technical committee is
concerned with issues related to modeling, designing, and evaluating human-machine
systems.
What we are doing
- In 2004 published a special issue in IEEE-SMC A on human-machine
medical systems.
- In 2005 published a special issue in IEEE-SMC A on human-robot interaction.
- Planning a special issue for IEEE SMC A on the abstraction hierarchy.
- In 2005 conducted a survey of TG members to improve our future services.
- Several members of the HMS TC will play a prominent role as associate
editors for a new journal on Cognitive Engineering and Decision Making.
- Planning to organize special sessions for SMC'06.
- Continuing to solicit and review high-quality papers for SMC-A.
- Recruiting several new associate editors for SMC-A in the area of
Human-Machine Systems.
- Appointing HMS Distinguished Lecturers.
