Nominations
Member at Large of the SMC
Society
Each year, five members of
the SMC Society are elected to the Board of Governors for three-year
terms. The Board of Governors represents the members of the Society
and approves the Society's annual budget, amendments to the Constitution
and Bylaws, elect society officers, and authorize the expenditure
of Society funds. Members of the Board of Governors are expected
to attend the annual meeting each October where the annual conference
is held.
The SMC Society encourages members to actively participate in
the governance of the Society. SMCS members are invited to submit
nominations for the position of Members-at-Large. These nominations
must be made by written petition, signed by 72 SMCS members including
their IEEE member numbers. The written petition must contain the
following information about each nominee:
- Full name and contact information
- IEEE member number
- Contributions to the profession
- Contributions to the SMCS and the IEEE
All nominees must be members
of the SMC Society.Petitions should be submitted to the
. The deadline for receipt of petitions is August 30 of each year.
IEEE Fellow
The IEEE Grade of Fellow is conferred by the Board of Directors
upon a person with an extraordinary record of accomplishments
in any of the IEEE fields of interest. Specific information on
the program is available on the IEEE
Fellow web site.
IEEE Senior Member
The IEEE Grade of Senior Member is conferred by the IEEE in
recognition of technical and professional excellence. A description
of the program and the benefits of Senior Membership may be
viewed on the
IEEE Senior Membership page .
Nominations for IEEE Senior member may be submitted online using
the IEEE
Senior Membership Application Form. Nominations are evaluated
eight to ten times per year by the IEEE.
