Distinguished Lecturer Visit in Baoding, July 13, 2012
IEEE SMC Baoding Chapter hosted IEEE Distinguished Lectures given by Dr. Dimitar P. Filev who is currently a Senior Technical Leader of Intelligent Control & Information Systems, Ford Research & Advanced Engineering, a co-editor-in-chief of the Journal on Evolving Systems, and is on the boards of the Journal of Automation, Mobile Robotics and Intelligent Systems, Int. J. of General Systems, Int. J. of Approximate Reasoning, and Int. J. of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. Dr. Filev is a Fellow of IEEE and a VP of the IEEE SMC.
At the invitation of the IEEE SMC Baoding Chapter and Prof. Xizhao Wang, Dr. Dimitar P. Filev delivered an IEEE distinguished lecture on 13rd July 2012 at Hebei University in Baodiing. The title of Dr. Dimitar’s lecture is "Soft Computing Technologies in Intelligent Vehicle Control & Information Systems". Dr. Dimitar’s lectures, combined with academic visits and exchanges, have shown some significant advances in machine learning and applications. More than 80 IEEE members and non-IEEE members across different disciplines attended the lecture. Audiences have shown great interest in the lectures, and were impressed by the novel ideas introduced by Dr. Dimitar. The lecture inspired face to face interactions and discussion after the lecture. The talk started at 14:30 PM and ended at 16:30 PM. The whole event was organized by Prof. Xizhao Wang, the chair of IEEE SMC Baoding chapter.
On completion of the DL talks, Dr. Dimitar P. Filev expressed his thanks to the whole IEEE SMC Baoding Chapter, Hebei University for their great effort in arranging and coordinating his DL talks and for their hospitality during his visit to the university.
