Application of Advanced Control Strategy in Processing Industry
Continuous processes in power plant and power station are complex systems characterized by nonlinearity, uncertainty and load disturbance. These factors, which usually make the conventional PID control ineffective, need to be taken into account in the design, development and tuning of a distributed control system(DCS), or recently developed field-bus control system(FCS).

Randomized Techniques for Design Under Uncertainty
Engineering design problems can often be cast as numerical optimization prgrams where the designer goal is to minimize a cost index (or maximize a utility index), subject to a set of constraints on the decision variables. In particular, a class of design problems that have both a theoretical and a practical relevance are those where the minimization objective and the constraints are convex functions of the variables.

Extraction and Grouping of the Visual Information from One or Multiple Images
A central issue in computer vision and image analysis areas is the grouping of visual content into meaningful assemblies, extracted from one (image segmentation) or multiple images (motion segmentation, image registration, image retrieval). Here are presented some considerations that arise in this context and the proposed solutions.
