are invited for a Research Associate position in the Intelligent
Robotics and Manufacturing Systems Laboratory, School
of Engineering Science, Simon
Fraser University. The research involves the development
of a distributed shop floor scheduling system for manufacturing
automation in collaboration with Canadian industry.
Preference
will be given to candidates who have a PhD degree in engineering
or computer science and demonstrated capabilities in the
following: (1) scheduling and optimization methods (2)
multi-agent systems, and (3) Java programming. Due to
the need for frequent client interface, the applicant
must have strong communication skills in both verbal and
written English.
