Position Available: Editor of the SMC eNewsletter
The IEEE SMC Society is accepting applications for the position of
Editor, SMC eNewsletter. The successful candidate will be appointed
for a three year term to begin January 1, 2006.
The major responsibilities for this position are as follows:
-
Appoint an editorial staff that will be responsible
for preparation of content
-
Solicit, collect, and edit contributions including
conferences and meetings, SMC Transactions and special issues, technical
committees, chapter activities, positions available, reviews and announcements.
-
Coordinate preparation with the Webmaster and Web
Editor.
-
Coordinate dissemination with the VP Membership and
Student Activities
-
Endeavor to improve the quality of the eNewsletter
in breadth and depth.
-
Develop semiannual progress reports to the SMCS Board
of Governors.
Potential applicants are encouraged to send a biosketch and brief vision
statement to the Vice President of Publications, Peter Beling <beling@virginia.edu>.
The successful candidate must be an member of the SMC Society in good
standing. All applications must be received prior to December 1, 2005.
