Postponement of the 2003 International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics

Since the announcement of our 2003 International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics (ICMLC 2003), we have received overwhelming response to our call for paper. So far we have received well over 1000 papers submitted to the conference. The organizing committee is excited to see such strong support from academics and researchers in the field. However due to the current SARS situation which caused a lot of concern and uncertainty in traveling to China, the Organization Committee has to consider the implication of holding the conference in August as scheduled. It is after grave consideration and with great reluctance that the three sponsoring organizations, IEEE SMC, the Hebei University, and the Northwestern Polytechnic University, have decided to postpone the ICMLC 2003 conference to 2-5 November this year. The tutorial sessions will be held on Sunday, 2 November and the conference on 3-5 November.

We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused and would like to urge your continuing support to the conference.

Wang Xizhao and Daniel Yeung
Conference Co-Chairs, ICMLC 2003
