Prof. Andrew P. Sage (Life Fellow, IEEE) was elected to membership in the U.S. National Academy of Engineering in 2004 For contributions to the theory and practice of systems engineering and systems management

Prof. Sage is First American Bank Professor of Information Technology and Engineering, George Mason University, Fairfax, Va. Among his numerous profesional activities are He served on the seminal committee that created the Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society within IEEE. He was President of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society for the two-year period 1984-1985. He was Editor in Chief, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, January 1972 through December 1998.
